Liverpool’s Liam Smith goes in as a huge underdog as he defends his WBO light middleweight title against Mexican sensation Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez this weekend.
Smith (23-0-1) won the vacant strap in October of last year and has since defended it twice, taking his run of consecutive knockout victories to eight.
Canelo (47-1-1) cannot boast that string of knockouts, but his record is full of big names and he has an enormous amount of victories for a 26-year-old, having turned pro at just 15.
The Mexican has only been beaten by Floyd Mayweather, whilst he has seen off the likes of Miguel Cotto, Erislandy Lara, Shane Mosley and Britain’s Amir Khan.
